Privacy & cookies
Last updated: 14 October 2026
This policy explains how Taps and Toilets handles personal information when you visit our website, contact us or request a plumbing or appliance repair.
Who we are
Taps and Toilets is a trading name of Oakbridge Blackwater Limited. We are the data controller for the personal information we use to handle enquiries and provide our services.
For privacy questions or requests, email info@tapsandtoilets.ie, call 087 456 5359, or write to Oakbridge Blackwater Limited, Venture Hub, 136 Capel Street, Dublin 1, Ireland.
Information we use
When you contact us or request a repair, we receive the information you provide. This can include your name, phone number, email address, repair address, description and photographs of the problem, preferred duration, availability and related correspondence. When work proceeds, records can also include job history, quotes, invoices, payment status and transaction references.
We may receive contact and job details from YourPro when you request work through that platform, or from someone arranging a repair on your behalf, such as a landlord or property manager. We use those details in connection with the requested work.
Website services can receive technical information such as the page visited, referring page, time of visit, browser and device information, IP address, interactions and privacy preferences. Optional measurement can also use browser identifiers, as explained below.
Please provide only information relevant to the repair. Avoid including unrelated sensitive information in messages or photographs. If you provide another person's details, make sure you are entitled to share them for the purpose of the enquiry.
Why we use information
We use enquiry and service details to respond, assess whether we can help, discuss pricing, arrange and complete work, communicate updates, issue invoices and handle follow-up, warranties or complaints.
Our legal bases depend on the purpose:
Contract and steps requested before a contract: information necessary to respond to your request for a service and provide agreed work.
Legal obligations: required accounting, tax and other statutory records.
Legitimate interests: administering the business, responding to people arranging work on another person's behalf, protecting our services and handling complaints or legal claims, taking account of the individuals' rights and interests.
Consent: optional analytics and advertising cookies and similar storage, and other processing where consent is required.
Contact and repair details are necessary to assess and arrange a repair. If you do not provide enough information, we may be unable to respond or carry out the work. Optional cookie consent is separate from requesting a service.
Providers and sharing
We use providers for specific business functions. Information shared depends on how you contact us and which service you use:
Hostinger: website hosting, delivery and security.
ServiceM8: online enquiries, bookings and service administration.
Gmail / Google Workspace: email correspondence and related records.
Xero: invoicing and accounting.
Revolut: relevant payments and transaction records.
YourPro: enquiries and work originating through its platform.
Google Analytics and Google Ads: website and advertising measurement, with optional cookie choices described below.
Amplitude through Hostinger: separate optional platform analytics.
The ServiceM8 booking form also loads Stripe components, including technology used for fraud prevention and security. These can load on the unpriced enquiry form before a website cookie choice. Opening that form does not make a payment, and the unpriced enquiry route does not ask you to enter card details.
If you choose a WhatsApp link, you open WhatsApp/Meta's service and its privacy practices apply to that interaction. Clicking a link alone does not send us a message. You can also contact us by phone or email.
We may disclose relevant information where required by law, or where necessary and lawful to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim. Providers may act on our behalf or have separate responsibilities for their own services.
Cookies and your choices
You can accept all, reject all or choose categories in our cookie banner. Use Cookie settings at the bottom left of the website to change or withdraw your choice at any time.
Analytics: Google Analytics measures visits and interactions, including contact and booking-link clicks. When permitted, it stores analytics identifiers.
Marketing: Google Ads measures advertising results and supports advertising personalisation when permitted. This category controls advertising storage, advertising data use and ad personalisation.
Platform Analytics: Hostinger uses Amplitude to understand website use and improve its platform. This is separate from Google Analytics.
Necessary storage: storage used for remembering your choice, delivering requested functionality and supporting security or booking sessions.
Google's current measurement setup can send limited requests before you make a choice or after you refuse optional cookies, with consent marked as denied. These requests can include visit, device, event and consent information. Refusing optional cookies therefore does not block every Google request. We do not describe all measurement as anonymous.
The embedded and direct ServiceM8 forms operate on a separate domain. Our website's saved permission does not automatically grant permission in that form; its Google measurement currently uses denied consent signals. Booking and Stripe storage can still be present when the form loads.
When you turn off a previously allowed category, this website removes that category's known first-party measurement storage and reloads the page to stop its loaded measurement tools. Save any enquiry details first. The website cannot directly erase cookies stored on another provider's domain. Your browser settings can provide additional controls over cookies and site data.
Cookie and storage lifetimes
The following storage was observed in our October 2026 website audit. Browser controls, provider changes and later permitted visits can affect lifetimes; some cookies are refreshed when used. Cookie expiry is different from how long a provider retains information on its servers.
Privacy choice: cc_cookie on tapsandtoilets.ie records categories, timestamps and a consent identifier for 182 days.
Google Analytics: visitor and session measurement cookies on tapsandtoilets.ie were observed with up to 400 days when Analytics was allowed.
Google advertising: the first-party advertising measurement cookie on tapsandtoilets.ie lasts up to 90 days. Related advertising local storage has no automatic browser expiry and is cleared by our withdrawal handler when Marketing is refused.
Advertising-domain cookies: test_cookie and IDE on doubleclick.net were observed after Marketing permission, with lifetimes of about 15 minutes and 390 days respectively.
Hostinger platform analytics: AMP_0c48a381e1 was observed with a 365-day lifetime. Related Amplitude queue and engagement entries use local or session storage. Local storage has no automatic browser expiry; session storage normally lasts for its browsing session. Our withdrawal handler removes the observed first-party entries when Platform Analytics is refused.
Hosting/security: __cf_bm on hosting domains, including zyrosite.com and hostingerapp.com, was observed with a lifetime of about 30 minutes.
ServiceM8 booking: CodeBase and oba_session on book.servicem8.com are session cookies.
Stripe components: m on m.stripe.com was observed with a lifetime of up to 400 days. On the direct form, __stripe_mid and __stripe_sid on book.servicem8.com were observed with lifetimes of 365 days and about 30 minutes. Stripe frames also used session-storage entries named _ab, _mf, 1 and id.
How long we keep information
Retention depends on the reason information is held: an active enquiry, providing and following up work, warranty or complaint matters, accounting and tax requirements, or establishing or defending a legal claim. Different records can therefore have different retention periods. Relevant Irish tax records generally need to be kept for six years; a specific legal requirement or ongoing matter can require longer retention.
We do not currently apply an automatic deletion schedule to enquiry and customer-service records, so these can remain in our systems unless reviewed or removed. You can contact us to request deletion or ask why particular information is still held. We consider requests against the purpose of retention and applicable legal obligations; some records may need to be retained despite a request.
Google Analytics is configured with a 14-month retention setting for user-level and event-level data. That setting does not impose a 14-month limit on all aggregated reports or on other providers' records.
International processing
Our providers operate internationally, so information may be processed outside Ireland or the European Economic Area. ServiceM8 states that EU account data is hosted in its European region, with some processing possible outside the EEA. Other providers describe international processing in their privacy notices and data-processing terms.
Transfer protections can include a European Commission adequacy decision or approved standard contractual clauses, as applicable to the provider and transfer. Contact us for information about relevant arrangements and how to obtain details of applicable safeguards. The provider notices below give further information.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or a portable copy of your personal information, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting lawful processing before withdrawal. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity when responding.
Send requests to info@tapsandtoilets.ie. You can also raise a concern with Ireland's Data Protection Commission.
Automation and policy updates
Our repair process asks you to contact us so that we can assess the problem, discuss pricing and agree the next step. Automated messages and measurement can support administration. If we introduce automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects, we will provide the required information about their purpose, operation, consequences and your rights before using them where required.
We update this policy when our providers, purposes or practices change. The date above shows the latest update. Where a change requires fresh information or consent, we will provide it through an appropriate notice or consent request.
